Item No.
– Installation of bonding to water services - £30 Materials, £60 Labour
– Supply and installation of new appropriately sized mcb for shower circuit – Cost of materials only £20
– If the correct size of fuse is being used in the FCU that is supplying this socket then the cable size is fine.  If not then this could be easily rectified for a matter of pence.  As for the Garage supply this would need to be addressed should you wish to keep the power out there, if not simply disconnecting it at this time would be the best solution.  If this isn’t an option I would suggest an onsite consultation to assess the requirements is required to quote accurately.
– Repeated Item. (Number 8)
– This would need some further investigation, it could be being caused by something as simple as a loose connection at the back of one of the sockets or it could be due to cable insulation degradation.  Removing all sockets and checking connection would be my first action, generally for further investigation of this nature I suggest an initial amount of time is assigned of 2 hours to allow for all connections to be checked and re-terminated if required and allow time for the circuit to be re tested.  This would be a cost of £90 for the initial 2 hours.  Following this we can assess further if required and agree upon any further action required.
– This is often caused where a ring final socket circuit has been divided into 2 separate circuits at a point in time.  First this would need to be confirmed by working around the sockets, testing at each one to establish where the break is, once this is confirmed we can assess the reason why it has been done and either if possible re-connect or allow the 2 circuits to remain and down grade the fuse protecting them to ensure the cables do not become overloaded and cause a fire.  Again an initial 2 hours to locate the break if present and re test appropriately.  £90 + cost of new MCB £20
– This suggests that the socket that is in use for powering the cooker and hob is not made to British standards, presuming the power usage of the cooker and hob are low enough to be powered by a 13amp socket and that indeed the socket they are using does not meet British standards, then a simple replacement socket is all that will be required. – Materials £6 Labour £10
– Based on the report it looks as though your installation as it is today was completed under the 16th edition of the electrical regulations, as at this time no RCD protection was required for low voltage circuits serving a room with a bath or a shower this should be coded a C3, that said my personal opinion based on my professional knowledge would lead me to advise you if possible to seriously consider addressing this by adding RCD protection for all circuits but especially any that serve a room with a bath or shower.
– Supply and installation of supplementary bonding Materials £35 Labour £45 - £135.  Please not this may require items such as bath panels, bathroom cabinets or sink units, flooring and floors to be removed/ lifted and re-laid.  A firm price will be given prior to work commencing once an onsite assessment of the amount of work that is required to achieve the goal.
- This would need some further investigation, it could be being caused by something as simple as a loose connection at the back of one of the sockets or it could be due to cable insulation degradation.
– Repeated item.(Number 16)
- Repeated Item (Number 20)
– Repeated Item. (Number 11)
– Repeated Item. (Number 22)
Items that have been assessed as C3 which I would deem C2 or FI and recommend are addressed as part of any remedial work.
